Meet Katie!
She is a Junior, Mass Communications major on the advertising track with a minor in electronic media and film. She joined HCTU last year. Here is what she had to say about herself.
1. What do you want to do when you graduate?
“When I graduate, I want to move to DC and get a job as a copywriter at an advertising agency. Eventually, I want to move to Boston and live up there. (I love cold weather!)”
2. What is your favorite memory?
“My favorite memory would probably be singing “One Day More” from Les Misérables with my fellow cast mates in a professional opera house in the summer 2012.”
3.What is your favorite clothing store?
“My favorite clothing store is probably Old Navy or the Gap. People think those stores are really lame, but I love them. They both have really great jeans and basics. I’m such a sucker for a nice cardigan and a good pair of jeans.”
4.Do you have a favorite movie or television show?
“That’s a really big question. I love movies and TV shows. I’m so passionate about movies. A few of my favorites though are Clue, Black Swan, The Breakfast Club, Forrest Gump, and The Departed. (I’ve also been watching Kingsman: The Secret Service over and over again the past few weeks. Highly recommend it. Check it out.) And, I love the TV shows Parks and Recreation, The Office, New Girl, Game of Thrones, and anything Shonda Rhimes does. “
5. Who do you idolize and why?
“I look up to a lot of my older friends, especially those involved in the theatre program I volunteer at during the summer. I feel as though they’re my mentors and I’ve learned so much from them. I also really look up to my mom and dad. My mom has been through some rough stuff, and has somehow come out with a smile on her face and heart full of compassion, a trait I definitely admire. My dad has also dealt with a lot and persevered through so much difficulty when he was my age. Plus, we have the same sense of humor, so it’s nice to have someone who gets my stupid jokes.”
6. Why did you join Her Campus Towson?
“I joined Her Campus about halfway through the fall semester last year. I had just transferred and hadn’t made any friends. I was really struggling to find my place here at Towson. Through Her Campus, I met one of my best friends and was able to do one of the things I love: write! I love being able to write about such a wide range of topics, fun and serious, with an amazing group of girls!”
7.What is your favorite song and why?
“My favorite song is probably “Pour Some Sugar On Me” by Def Leppard. It’s my jam. It’s the song I play before I go out, the song I lip sync and dance to while I clean my bedroom, and the song I sing in the shower. Such a classic. “
