Quick, Loose Waves for the Holidays

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

Curling your hair with a curling iron is what a lot of girls do when they want to have voluminous and wavy hair. But what’s easier and faster is to use a curling wand. Mine is from Conair and it is the perfect tool to having great hair in minutes.

To show how to curl hair with a curling wand, I curled my roommate Brooke’s hair. It took about 20 minutes and her curls in lasted the whole day. The only other tools I used for her hair were heat spray and Garnier hairspray.

I first used heat protectant on her hair (Aussie Heat-Protecting Shine Spray). After spritzing some all over her hair, Brooke put the front of her hair up. What this step does is create seperate layers, which makes her hair easier to curl and look fuller.

The first layer I curled was the back of her hair. I curled it holding the wand away from her face and while holding the hair on the wand for 10 seconds.

After curling the back of her hair, I took another layer down and curled it using the same technique. I made sure to hold the curls tight so the curls would last long and hold up throughout the day.

Finally I curled that last layer, and made sure the front of her hair was curled away from her face.

And voila! You are finished. It is just that simple. Feel free to tease the front of your hair, as Brooke chose to do, to give your hair extra body.

Until next time,

Jeanne
