Single on Valentine’s Day? Check out our Movie Picks with these Hollywood Hunks!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

All the single ladies, put your hands up. Few holidays can make a girl on her own feel quite as useless as Valentine’s day, and watching all the happy couples have a great time without you is preferable only to being beaten with a lead pipe. But it doesn’t have to be all bad, girls! Without a boyfriend breathing down your neck, you have the freedom to ogle all the hottest guys in the movie world. So gather up your single girlfriends, make some popcorn and stare at these sexy guys all you want from our list of movie picks for single ladies on Valentine’s Day:

Harry Potter & Pirates of the Caribbean

For the girl who feels adventurous, any Harry Potter or Pirates of the Caribbean movies are perfect. Johnny Depp, Daniel Radcliffe, Orlando Bloom, Tom Felton…it’s times like these you’re glad that these movies are lengthy. Even if fantasy isn’t your cup of tea, you can’t discount how many attractive men are in them.

The Dark Night, Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace & The Iron Man

If you fantasize about being the damsel in distress, there are plenty of movie heroes to help you out. Christian Bale makes a sexy Batman in The Dark Night, beautiful Brit Daniel Craig plays the notorious ladykiller James Bond in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, and attractive Robert Downey Jr. is the Iron Man.

The Notebook, Titanic, Twilight, Casablanca & Gone with the Wind

Of course, it wouldn’t be Valentine’s day without some romance movies. Ryan Gosling in The Notebook? Check. Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic? Check. If you don’t have an unrealistically passionate lover in your life, the Twilight saga is the next best thing. (Hopefully, though, in real life, you won’t be as obsessed with your boy as Bella is with hers!) And don’t forget the classics–Casablanca or Gone with the Wind are fine choices.

Donnie Darko, 28 Days Later & The Village

And finally, if you’re feeling a little darker this Valentine’s day, there are still movies for you. Jake Gyllenhaal plays cute but disturbed misanthrope Donnie Darko, and hottie Cillian Murphy takes the lead in zombie-vampire flick 28 Days Later. Even in The Village, a pre-psycho Joaquin Pheonix is pretty romantic, and not too bad looking!

There’s someone for everybody, so never fear. You’re not going to die a lonely cat lady. But to tide you over for this potentially depressing holiday–go Hollywood, and gush without guilt.
