FINALS! Where to Study

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Trinity chapter.

How, what, when, where, and why did all of this homework and studying happen!?  The December stretch can get pretty hectic around here, and the library is either too crowded or too depressing.  So why not find somewhere else to do work, and have a nice change of scenery!  While many people find classrooms that are not being used in LSC, MCEC, or Seabury, there are also the classrooms in the Summit dorms and underneath Cook and Goodwin.  There are also empty rooms in the basement of each Jarvis entrance and a huge room in Downes Memorial in between the Economics and Political Science faculty offices.  You could also go to the Underground or the Cave, which are surprisingly pretty quiet at night.  But if the whole Trinity scene is starting to grow old, I’ve also found a few great spots that all have free wi-fi! Let’s be honest, we’re all pretty reliant on the internet these days to get our work done…not to mention the procrastination of checking emails, twitter updates, and facebook statuses!

For those of you who depend on those cups of coffee to get you through the week, there are three Starbucks Coffeehouses near by or you could try out the coffee shop It’s a Grind in West Hartford.  For anyone who likes to munch on some food while studying, there are two Panera Bread’s and a Cosi close to campus that offer comfy seating arrangements, while still having great tables to work at.  Being an avid fan of both coffee and food, I might end up in West Hartford and travel from one to the next to the next!  Barnes and Noble in West Hartford also has a Starbucks inside, and if you forget a book, there’s a great chance there will be a copy of it there!  If you feel like these places would be a little too distracting, there are always public libraries nearby that have amazing facilities and resources.  Good luck to all of you with all of your papers, tests, and homework!  Stay sane!
