Nailed It! Find the Perfect Nail Polish Color This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Trinity chapter.

A Trinity girl cares about her looks, and with that attention to detail often comes a great manicure. From neon to pastels, many Trinity girls are sporting trendy nail polish colors this fall that match their individual senses of style.

I sat down with junior Tonnay Brown to discuss our mutual love of manicures and trendy polish colors. Tonnay claims to have 48 nail polish colors and counting, with OPI and Essie being her favorite brands. One of her favorite colors is a bright pink called “Knockout Pout” made by Essie. Although I do love a bright color, dark reds, hunter green, or even a plum purple can all prove to be wonderful subtle colors for the fall and winter. Pastel colors such as fair pinks and light beiges work well in any season, as they accent most skins tones in a natural and beautiful way. As Tonnay mentioned, Essie and OPI are fantastic nail polish brands that offer classic and seasonal colors. These brands cost anywhere from $8 to $10 per bottle and you can guarantee that the color will remain intact.  If you are feeling more indulgent, you can also try Deborah Lippmann colors. Lippman is a renowned celebrity manicurist who has created her own line of nail lacquers with names such as “Between the Sheets” and “Like a Virgin.” Her lacquers range in cost from $16 to $20 per bottle. While Deborah Lippman lacquers can be purchased in major retail stores such as Saks and Neiman Marcus, all brands can be found online. When investing in manicures and nail polish colors, don’t forget to purchase a “matte” topcoat that you can use yourself to keep your color protected and bright.

I hope that every Trinity girl finds a suitable palette of nail polish colors this season! For more inspiration, visit Tonnay’s nail polish blog, eatpraynails.tumblr.com
