Acapella is one of the coolest things on Trinity’s campus. Individually, each group adds a touch of unique musical flavor to the college’s socail scene. This time of year, our acapella groups are particularly visible with the slew of end of semester concerts and as huge fans of each group, HC Trinity wanted to take the opportunity to get to know some of the them better. We thought you would, too. Here you have it folks: The Trinity College Dischords, Trinitones, and Quirks.
Group Name: The Trinity College Trinitones
Founding year: 1987
Group tag line: “Sassy and Classy”
Signature song: The Peppermint Twist
Favorite concert/moment of the semester: Performing with the Trinity College Dance Company at our concert, MixTape. There, we were really able to see our music be part of a larger context. It was rewarding to see our audience be able to experience the music with sight and sound.
Interesting tid bits: We have a few Tones with some odd similarities. There are two Tones with the birthday September 20 and we have a tone named Elaine Marie, and Marie Elaine! Since their inception in 1987, the Trinitones have sung at various social and cultural events both on campus and off including performances in New York City, the greater Hartford area, and of course President Jones’s living room. The Trinitones are currently recording a new CD, set to come out this spring!

Favorite concert/moment of the semester: Despite the freezing cold, all of our friends showed up to watch us sing in the Northam Arch, it gave the group a newfound energy.
Interesting tid bits: We love to make random mashups and remix’s of our songs.

Favorite concert/moment of the semester: We love decorating for our performances and are especially proud of what we came up with for our Halloween Spooktacular Show and our Final Winter Concert!
