Recently, my friends and I sat down to watch a chick flick, and I was horrified to discover that they had never seen nearly half of my favorites. Here are my favorite chick flick gems that I’ve watched throughout my life. You should watch (or rewatch) these immediately if you haven’t already!
Â
1.    Stuck in Love (2012)
Â
I randomly discovered this amazing movie on Netflix one rainy night and have been recommending it to everyone ever since. The plot is centered around a family of divorced parents and their two children and is focused on each of their intriguing and heartwarming love lives.
Â
2.   The Notebook (2004)
Â
This movie is a classic chick flick that is a must-see for every Collegiette. It’s the type of movie that sets unnaturally high expectations for guys because Noah is just that perfect (you’ll see what I mean when you watch it).
Â
3.    The Time Traveler’s Wife (2009)
Â
This movie is a bit different from a typical chick flick because it has a science fiction element: the main character time travels. Nonetheless, the romance between Clare and Henry is poignantly portrayed, and by the end of the movie, you’ll be completely invested in their lives.
Â
4.    500 Days of Summer (2009)
Â
This movie has the most wonderful cast possible (aka Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel together in a movie). Amazing, right? It displays Tom and Summer’s relationship over 500 days in a non-linear fashion. This movie is great because it portrays a deeper view of romance. It is much different than the typical pattern of two people meeting, falling in love, and staying together forever.
Â
5.    Keith (2008)
Â
Like Stuck in Love, this is a gem I found on Netflix. It’s a total tearjerker so have your tissues ready when you watch it. The movie starts out a bit slow, so just remember you have to keep watching, and give it a chance (it’s amazing, I promise).
Â
6.    13 Going on 30 (2004)
Â
This movie is a quintessential rom-com that you can watch over and over again. You’ll love both Jenna and Matt equally, and by the time you finish, you’ll be in an amazing mood.
Â
7.    How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003)
Â
Andie uses Benjamin as an experiment to prove how she can lose a guy in only ten days. Her experiment gets a bit out of hand and turns into something she never expected. Watch the movie to find out what happens!
Â
8.    Safe Haven (2013)
Â
This movie focuses on romance, but it also has a really strong plotline. You’ll find yourself naturally rooting for Katie and Alex to be together throughout the entire movie.
Â
9.    Dear John (2010)
Â
I know you’re probably thinking, “not another Nicholas Sparks movie,” but this one is seriously worth it. The main characters are brilliantly played by Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum. If you like heavily emotional romantic movies, this is the one for you.
Â
10. The Proposal (2009)
Â
This Rom-Com is so entertaining. Between Betty White’s role as the hilarious grandmother, and the surprising chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, the movie has a perfect mix of humor and love. It’s absolutely perfect for a movie night with your girls!
Â
Now it’s time to grab some popcorn and get cozy to watch one of these incredible chick flicks. Enjoy!
