Holiday Makeup Looks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tufts chapter.

The thought of the holidays always brings with it a longing for another season of festivities, during the air is always filled with something special. As this year’s holiday season approaches, why not try out some of these new ideas to add some variety to your regular makeup routine?

1. Metallics

Spice up your eye makeup with a wash of intense shadow. Remember to keep your skin tone in mind when choosing between different metallic shades (silver and grey shadows for cool tones, and bronze and gold shadows or warm tones). The pop of the metallics’ shimmer will dimension to your eyes, and make them shine in the winter air!

Deep red lips are perfect for the holidays. The rich color always transfers into pictures well (which is a plus for your Facebook cache!) Darker makeup is perfect for the winter months, and lips make a bold, sexy statement.

Have fun with your eyeliner! Try giving yourself cat eyes, or experiment with different types of wings. Adding an intricate lining to a classic eye shadow will give you a classic look that is unique to you.

4. Jewel Toned Eyeshadows

Just like red lips, jewel-toned shadows are a great way to mix up your regular makeup routine during the holidays. Try using a darker color on your lids or under your lower lash line to draw some attention to your beautiful eyes.
