Relay for Life is this Friday! Check out what one of the Relay for Life leaders has to say about it…

Name: Samantha Toohey

Year: Senior

Major: Biochemistry

How long have you been a part of Relay of Life?

I’ve been doing Relay for 7 years.

What’s it like being a committee head?

Being an event chair has been the most rewarding, albeit draining, experience.

What’s your favorite part of the event?

My favorite part of the event is the luminaria ceremony because it’s a beautiful way to honor those touched by cancer. It’s when I feel the most vulnerable, but it’s so important to me to feel the overwhelming community around Relay.

What is the meaning behind the Disney theme for this year’s event?

This year’s Disney theme was partly inspired by the desire to make dreams into reality.

What will be the highlight activities for this Friday?

I’m very excited for 2am Zumba and seeing the before and after from our hairdressers!

How can people sign up for Friday’s event?

You can sign up for the event at relayforlife.org/tufts
