It’s that time of year, Collegiettes! Time to start thinking of ways to be productive over the summer. Yes, we all love the idea of sipping margaritas on the beach next to a gorgeous hottie somewhere off the coast of Mexico, but let’s face it: in today’s übercompetative job market, summer internships are great way to get a foot in the door. Here are a few of the top national internships that will be guaranteed to spruce up your resumé and give you a feel for the real corporate lifestyle.
If you want to work in Boston:
● Entertainment:
Company: Massachusetts Film Office (MFO) within Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism (MOTT)
What they do: Promoting Massachusetts as a friendly, family-oriented destination with a rich historical culture. MFO is a state agency that markets the Commonwealth as a location for feature films and television projects.
Requirements and Description: Should ideally be studying film and television production, and must be able to commit to at least 15 hours per week. May receive college credit. Will be required to breakdown television scripts and coordinate feature film locations, update media and film industry databases, and assist other staff with special projects.

Company: Honest Tea
What they do: A leader in the organic bottled tea market.
Requirements and Description: Must be able to commit to a five-day work week for 10-12 weeks, and have access to a vehicle. Looking for a sales and marketing intern who can promote Honest Beverages in retail stores and at consumer events. Also will be helping to source/find promotional events and opportunities for the brand.

Requirements and Description: College credit is not offered, and candidates must be able to work 20 hours per week. Duties include updating database information, performing research, reading scripts, providing general administrative support, etc.

Requirements and Description: Interns must commit to at least 15 hours a week and may receive college credit for the internship. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Photoshop, etc. Looking for a marketing intern to bolster the firm’s social media presence, and plan executive firm events, speaking engagements, and seminars.

What they do: Provide intensive swimming lessons to children and adults, including disabled athletes and individuals who have been diagnosed with various mental diseases.
Requirements and Description: Seeking a marketing administrative assistant who is experienced with all forms of social media. Focus is on keeping the team organized and productive by coordinating the flow of information between prospective clients, sales teams, data providers, and senior management. Must be vailable at least 20 hours per week; may receive college credit.

What they do: This is a boutique event marketing and production firm that provides clients with special event production services. Focuses on weekly nightlife accounts, corporate events, and holiday events, such as major Halloween and NYE events targeted towards unique demographics.
Requirements and Description: Must commit to 24 hours a week, and may receive college credit for internship. Should feel comfortable with basic online programs and accounting techniques. You will be managing database promotions, recapping weekly finances, and coordinating check pickups and reservation confirmations.

What they do: A public relations, events and branding firm that focuses on long-term, quality strategies that enable its clients to generate ongoing press coverage.
Requirements and Description: Must commit to at least 20 hours a week for a minimum of 10 weeks, and may receive college credit. Must have a basic understanding of media relations skills, and a basic knowledge of computer programs. Will help plan events, update critical media lists, manage clip books and media-monitoring, and maintain vendor contacts.

What they do: Specialize in recruitment advertising and brand creation.
Requirements and Description: Must commit to 15 hours per week, and may receive college credit. Will be interacting closely with Director of HR, but will maintain communication with all personnel and management. Candidates must be organized, as intern duties are to update personnel forms and COBRA enrollment, and to analyze benefit packages. Internship is unpaid, but includes a $500 stipend at end of internship.
