The 2017 Emmy Awards took place last week and if you’re looking for a new show to binge watch, look no further than this year’s winners.

 

Big Little Lies

The mystery mini series, Big Little Lies, took home a total of eight awards this year.  The show has a star studded cast, including Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Adam Scott, and Zoe Kravitz.  The show is set in the beautiful Monterey, California and the views and homes alone will make HGTV lovers rejoice.  The show switches between flashbacks and flashforwards of a murder investigation as viewers explore the complicated and intertwined lives of the characters. With only seven episodes, be prepared to finish this binge worthy show within a weekend.

 

The Handmaid’s Tale

This Hulu series, that took home a whopping eight awards, takes place in a futuristic society that is facing fertility issues. In order to continue the human race, the few fertile women are treated as property of the state and forced into lives of sexual servitude. The show explores how the main character, Offred, hopes to find her daughter that was taken from her.

 

Saturday Night Live

Most of us have already watched this show, but if you took a break now is the time to get watching again.  SNL had an amazing year and is definitely worth revisiting.   They basically won the Emmy Awards this year, taking a whopping nine titles, more than any other show.

 

Veep

Veep won best comedy series this year, so if you’re looking for a new funny show check this one out. The show follows the new VP, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, as she battles through the day to day political challenges of the United States government.
