For many, the beginning of October means snuggling up with a good book under the fireplace, drinking hot pumpkin spice lattes, and bundling up with a hat and scarf before stepping outside. At Tulane we do things a little bit differently: opting for an iced beverage to cool us off on our walk to class (iced latte for me), and hiding under our covers only in the hopes of escaping the air conditioning that has chilled our souls. However, New Orleans lack of seasons can’t stop the obsessive fall shopper in their search for the perfect new shoe to wear to class. Here is my rundown on the top three shoe trends you need in your life right now.
1. Red
Red is everyone’s favorite color for fall. Slipping on your favorite red shoes will instantly elevate your look, bringing your outfit from boring to fabulous. Whether a pair of bright red sneakers, or a pair of burgundy booties, all eyes will be on you as you step outside to embrace the day.
2. Men’s Wear Loafers
Loafers are back in style this season. Whether walking to the library, eating lunch in the cafeteria, or giving a presentation is a business class, loafers are your go to shoe and a must have. This shoe will instantly polish any look, making even sweatpants look chic.
3. Sock Boots
Ideal for pairing with cropped pants, dresses, and just about anything, when shopping online for your next staple boot, the sock boot is a must try. Elongating your legs and adding a sense of femininity to your look, the sock boot is great for a night out on the town, dinner with friends, or even a day packed full of studying.
