Candace the Munchie Monster: The Burnt Gardener

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

Baby it’s freezing outside. Even though New Orleans is for the most part exceedingly warm, there are moments like today where the weather gets a tad bit too crisp for my liking. Those are the kinds of days that I just want to curl up in bed, never leave my room, and have a cup of warm apple cider on my bedside table. Fortunately, I’ve also found a delicious complement that’s easy to make and make not only your tummy warm, but also gives you a giant smile. It’s a grilled cheese…on STEROIDS.

The Burnt Gardener

Ingredients:

– 1 cup of burning melange gouda
(or some sort of herbed gouda)
– 2 slices of olive bread
– 1 tbsp of diced semi-sun-dried tomatoes
– 2 pats of citrus herb butter

It’s pretty easy. First you put the butter in the pan, and as soon as it’s bubbling, add some of the cheese. Then, place the bread on top of the bubbling cheese/butter mixture and let it form a crust of cheesy, herby, buttery goodness. Butter the side that’s currently facing up, add a dab more cheese to the pan and GENTLY flip the bread. Once you’ve done so, add the rest of the cheese and the tomatoes, let the cheese melt and dive into the most delicious thing you’ll have ever eaten.

*Thanks*
