What is Women in Science for those that don’t know? Women in Science is an on-campus organization for female undergrads, and specifically science majors, to provide a supportive environment throughout their science education and help them reach academic and professional goals. We do this through social functions and networking working events. Â
Â
What is your role within Women in Science? I am president, so I oversee everyone else in exec board, which is 5 other people. I am also in charge of outreach and communication, and I run elections.  Â
Â
What do you think a group like this is important to have at Tulane? Traditionally, science has been a men’s field, so these kinds of women’s groups were developed as a support group to help women in male dominated fields. Although this isn’t the case anymore, we still like to help support each other through undergrad careers and help women develop leadership skills.Â
Â
What else are you involved in on campus? I’m in the Newcomb Scholars program, I do a lot of community service, and I’m beginning doing research with a professor. Â
Â
What’s are your favorite places to eat in Nola? Boucherie (8115 Jeannette Street), Rum House (3128 Magazine Street), Sucre (3025 Magazine Street)…I’m a big chocolate fan!   Â
Â
What about your favorite place to shop in New Orleans? Francesca’s (3333 Magazine Street)
Â
What comes to mind when you think of Tulane? Community spirit and community mindedness

Any finals study tips now that they’re around the corner? Sit down and take a big piece of paper and write out everything you have to do and make a plan for each day. Map everything out! It takes time but it’s very helpful. And make sure to build in wiggle room! Â
