Music to My Ears: Let’s Workout-The Gym Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

With spring break approaching in just a couple of weeks, it’s time that I start hitting the gym!  Of course, I’m the kind of girl who needs really good music to listen to get me motivated (sad, isn’t it?), so I am constantly changing out my playlist to help me stay pumped while endlessly riding on the elliptical.  This week, I am obsessed with these five songs:

 1. Let It Be – The Beatles

This is my absolute favorite Beatles song.  I listen to this song on repeat when I feel like my life is spinning outof control and it seems like it puts everything back in perspective.  But of course, I love this song even if I am having the best day of my life! That’s the power of The Beatles; any timeis the perfect time to listen to them!

2. When I’m Gone – Wiz Khalifa

Wiz Khalifa is one of my all-time favorite artists.  In fact, he is coming to New Orleans over spring break andwill be performing March 17!  If you are in town, he is definitely a must-see.  His album Rolling Papers has produced an incredible amount of hits, and this song is no exception.

3. Maths – deadmau5
This is the perfect dancing, or rather, raving song.  Deadmau5 has been climbing to the top of the electro ladder
by producing these unique compositions such as Maths.” I expected him to be touring through some of the US music festivals this spring and summer but unfortunately he will be in Europe until July.  Any ideas if this means he will be at Voodoo Fest next fall?? I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

4. Handclaps & Guitars – Chiddy Bang
Yay for Chiddy Bang! Their newest album Breakfast was just released last week, so of course, I had to make a
shout out to my favorite underdogs.  This rapping duo met in college and has produced and remixed some of the best songs out there.  Keep your eyes peeled for these two; they are only getting bigger from here.

5. Princess of China – Coldplay & Rihanna
I am honestly surprised that Rihanna and Coldplay came together to produce a single.  I love the strong vocals
and the incredible background music though that has come as a result of the pairing.  This is definitely a powerful song that is worth a listen.
