In May the city of New Orleans opened to the public one of the greatest gifts a college student could be blessed with. Sitting downtown, right along the riverwalk, sits the brand new Riverwalk Mall. This mall is jam-packed with many popular stores, but did I mention that they are all outlets?! This past week I was eager to see what this new mall was all about after hearing from a friend of its greatness. I arrived and to my surprise, not only did every store in the mall have discounted items, but everything was on extra sale as well. For a money conscious college fashion fiend, this was heaven. Along with its numerous stores, the mall also has some classic New Orleans dining. You can grab a quick beignet from the notorious Café Du Monde, eat some froyo from Red Mango, or even have a sit down meal from a few various restaurants. The Riverwalk Mall had a modern and unique décor, with shops that seemed to go on for miles. Though my timing and my wallet could not allow me to hit every store I would have liked in the mall, here is a list of some of my favorites…

Neiman Marcus Last Call Studio
Obviously, Neimans is not the most economically ideal store for a college student to be shopping at. However, the clothes are pretty irresistible. Trust me, this Neimans is a gift to us all. With almost all items around $100 off, it is practically guilt-free shopping!
Steve Madden
If you are as much of a shoe lover as I am, you can appreciate the fact that this store is a blessing! Steve Madden relentlessly tempts us with trendy and consistently attractive shoes. While the prices of these shoes are not totally crazy to begin with, the discounts make this shoe obsession ever more tantalizing.
Gap Factory Store
I have always loved buying my hangout sweats from the Gap, as well as many of my work out clothes. Recently though, I have began to notice that the Gap is stepping up its game in the style department. Their clothing has been keeping up with the latest fashion trends, and in a big way! Definitely a forerunner for me in the Riverwalk mall.
When you get a chance to take a break from all of the tireless studying and paper writing, I highly recommend a little retail therapy at the new Riverwalk Mall. These outlet shops are pretty irresistible, and as a definite plus, you won’t have to leave with an empty wallet and feelings of regret!
