“You and I… We’re like Sisters!”
Most of us came back from winter break with a few new things – some new clothes, school supplies, maybe even a clean slate and a determination and desire to do really, really well in school this semester. But two Tulane freshmen, Mikayla Stern-Ellis and Emily Nappi, came back with new half-sisters – each other!
The two met through Facebook while each trying to find a roommate to live in Wall. No, as great of a twist that would be, they were not roommates. They did, however, become really good friends last semester. They bonded over the fact that they were from California, loved acting, lived in the same dorm, and had anonymous sperm donors of Colombian descent. Get this: they would often jokingly say that there’s a 25% chance that they were sisters.
Over break, Mikayla’s mom became skeptical of all the similarities between the two girls. Things seemed almost too similar for the friendship to just be a coincidence. After a little research between the two girls, it turned out that the sperm donors were a match! It’s like a real-life version of the Parent Trap… Well, except for the booby traps, honey, and shaving cream, of course.
