How did you become involved with Tidal Wave?
I was food chair last year, and decided to try to be committee chair this year and yay it happened!!!
Can you describe your role as chair a little more?
My main role in tidal wave this year is to lead my committee of 15 students and help plan a homecoming experience that excites the entire tulane community and gets everyone in the spirit for celebrating our school!
What are some major events we should be looking forward to (editor’s note: they will all be amazing)
Definitely look out for Vanessa Bayer this week on Wednesday and broods on Thursday! Those are sure to be absolutely amazing events by super talented and high profile acts.
As a strong female leader, do you have any advice for other women looking to get involved on campus?
My advice to women on campus looking for roles in which they can be effective leaders would be to start small! I’m a junior and only now am I starting to feel like I’m really finding my place on campus and in the tulane community. It started with filling out an application to be on tidal wave spring of freshmen year and has led to this incredibly rewarding and fulfilling experience these past few months. Getting the opportunity to lead a committee of other students who are just as excited to plan this week as I am is seriously the coolest thing I’ve ever gotten to do and such an honor!
For more Tidal Wave, be sure to check out their Facebook page! Events kick off Monday, 10/24 with the Lighting of McAlister, and continue through the weekend.
