Rejoice, one and all! Springtime fashion is finally in full swing here in NOLA (despite the fact that we’re living in a puddle). Here are some trends to keep in mind as you freshen up your wardrobe for the season.

Bold florals

Subtle, small flower prints are nice and all, but Spring 2015 is about making a statement with your florals. The bigger and the more elaborate, the better!

Suede, suede, suede

Think suede is meant for fall? Think again. There are so many options when it comes to this versatile fabric. You can channel a 70’s-esque vibe and try wearing a fringe jacket instead of your usual denim. You can opt for some cute suede wedges or peep-toe booties. You can even incorporate it into your wardrobe simply by carrying a suede clutch.

Gladiator Sandals

This Grecian style is super chic, whether you want to go all-out or try a subtler version of the style. My favorite is to wear them is with a simple dress and a statement necklace.

Gingham!

Gingham is back, and it’s proving that it can look modern and classy. In the past, I haven’t been a big fan of this pattern—I couldn’t seem to shake the image of Dorothy running around in The Wizard of Oz, and I always felt juvenile wearing it. But, this spring I’m going to give gingham a second chance, and you should give it a try, too. (Plus, if Tay Swift can rock it… it has to be somewhat legit, right??)

Statement Shades & Earrings

Ray-Bans are great, but it’s time to mix it up. Whether you try a cat eye shape or a funky color with a chunky frame, making your shades stand out amps up your whole look. And sure, you can’t go wrong with classy pearl or diamond studs, but spring is a time to adorn your ear lobes with something flashy.
