We Have The Eras Tour At Home

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TX State chapter.

After the Ticketmaster craziness, hours in the queue and crashes of the website, I was lucky enough to secure tickets to Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour in Houston, Texas.

While I could talk for hours about the concert experience, I was so excited when I heard that the concert was going to be made into a film.

The Eras Tour film trailer brought to life the exciting moments of Taylor Swift’s most recent tour. After the film was announced from Taylor Swift’s Instagram on September 26, Swifties began to prepare for another enchanted night to remember.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour was a film packed with Taylor’s greatest hits, detailed choreography, gorgeous sets and colorful wardrobe changes.

The night started with a long line for the Era’s popcorn buckets and souvenir cups. The movie theater was filled with Taylor Swift-inspired outfits from all of the eras. Swifties began to trade friendship bracelets and take photos before the film began. A buzz filled the theater as anticipation grew for the movie to begin.

With 13 seconds on the clock, the timer began to countdown as the excitement filled the crowd.

It’s been a long time coming but…

The film began with “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince” ringing out over the theater’s speakers and the audience singing along to every word.

The big screen helped to immerse the crowd in the moment, allowing the theater to feel exactly like the auditorium from the film.

When I went to the Eras Tour concert in Houston, I was lucky enough to secure last-minute floor seats from Ticketmaster.

With floor seats, it was difficult at times to see what was happening on certain parts of the stage. The Eras film was beautifully shot to highlight the dancer’s choreography and show Taylor Swift’s ever-changing facial expressions.

My favorite choreography from the film was in the songs “The Man”, “tolerate it”, “Look What You Made Me Do”, “Vigilante Shit” and “Bejeweled.”

The film’s camera angles did a fantastic job showcasing the talented dancers and intricate choreography.

With sing-along classics such as “Lover”, “Love Story”, “Enchanted (Taylor’s Version)”, “Style”, and “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)” the audience sang every word of each song.

The 2 hours and 45 minutes long film was filled with excitement from beginning to end. It was truly an immersive film that brought the audience right into the world of Taylor Swift.

Whether you’ve gotten the chance to see Taylor Swift live or not, this film really showed how Taylor Swift can connect with her audience through multiple platforms— on and off screen.

If you have some free time this weekend, I recommend you purchase tickets for this film and share your love of her music with others.

Taylor Swift is truly a mastermind for releasing this film for the world to enjoy.
