My favourite genre when it comes to books is Fantasy. I just enjoy reading about how people
with magic can do amazing things and how they often save the world. Here are 3 of my absolute
favourite series that I think most people can enjoy.
- The Nevernight Chronicle (Jay Kristoff)
-
I love this book because it doesn’t display a perfect character. It shows someone who is
so consumed with their emotions that it’s their only driving force and how we can all
learn to be better.
Mia Corvere is the main character who, because her father was executed, is
consumed with rage and wants to take revenge on those that killed her father. Once she
is old enough, she attends a school that trains assassins to be even deadlier. However,
there is a murder that happens within the walls of the assassin school and this starts her
down her true path.
- The Kingkiller Chronicle (Patrick Rothfuss)
-
This story is amazing but sadly not yet complete. I still recommend it though because it’s
just that good.
This is the description on the Chapters website:
“My name is Kvothe.
I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down
the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both
my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age
than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others
fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and
written songs that make the minstrels weep.
You may have heard of me.
So begins a tale unequaled in fantasy literature—the story of a hero told in
his own voice. It is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man’s
search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the
indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.”

This book gets even crazier than the description so I highly recommend.
- The Licanius Trilogy (James Islington)
-
This is one of the more recent series that I have read and it is just as great as the last two
series. I love stories about an underdog that becomes powerful but still remains as kind
as before and you have that in this story.
This is the description on goodreads.
“As a student of the Gifted, Davian suffers the consequences of a war
fought—and lost—before he was born. Despised by most beyond the school
walls, he and those around him are all but prisoners as they attempt to learn
control of the Gift. Worse, as Davian struggles with his lessons, he knows that
there is further to fall if he cannot pass his final tests.
But when Davian discovers he has the ability to wield the forbidden power of the
Augurs, he sets into motion a chain of events that will change everything. To the
north, an ancient enemy long thought defeated begins to stir. And to the west, a
young man whose fate is intertwined with Davian’s wakes up in the forest,
covered in blood and with no memory of who he is…”

This story is amazing and has an amazing conclusion that will satisfy almost everyone.
