I cannot be the only person who feels as though they are drowning in bad news. In fact, I know I
am not as many people have begun posting their own good news segments such as John
Krasinski. It is fair to say I have been inspired as I hope to share with all of you some news that
brightened my day.
First, I would like to start with the world of sports. I am not usually a huge fan of sports but with
most pro sports being put on hold there has been a rise in home sports. Twitter has definitely
replaced Sports Center as the number one broadcaster. My favourite at-home sports so far are
Corgi Golf, Baby Basketball, and cardboard box car racing. Check out the links below!

Now let me move on to some stories which will definitely get you emotional, but in the best way.
One story which hits close to home is the success of the second annual Green Shirt Day. Despite
COVID-19 restrictions this campaign was able to continue and bring awareness for the need of
organ donation. This campaign is in honour of Humboldt Bronco Logan Boulet who saved the
lives of 6 people following the crash. Read more about it here.

Next is a story of our community rallying around small businesses. We are in a time were almost
all businesses are struggling however small businesses are getting a disproportionate hit.
Edmonton’s Print Machine launched the “Here For Good” campaign to help keep these
companies in business. Find out how you can help here.

In some completely non virus-related news. Alberta’s Siksika Nation has gotten the British Royal
Albert Memorial Museum to return items that once belonged to Chief Crowfoot. This is a huge
win as these artifacts sitting in a museum in the United Kingdom is utterly colonial. More on this
story below!

And now finally let me introduce you to the world of food and entertainment. I assume that many
of you out there are dreaming of dining out. When that day comes, I think LOVEPIZZA deserves
our support because of the support they are currently giving to frontline workers. On March 20th
they decided to start a campaign to thank these workers by delivering pizzas with a personal
touch to hospitals and other essential services. You can find more information in the link below.

When it comes to entertainment, the best news I have gotten is a new season of The Real
Housewives of Beverly Hills is coming out April 15th. If you have not started watching the
Housewives now is the time to begin. I am Bravo’s biggest fan as it is the television network
which provides me with the distraction, I need from the challenging events happening around me.
