Fall. A season of bright colors, crisp, cool, air and the nationally-supported destruction of national icons. It’s election season! A time of mu, gossip, and constant rumors. About every week the National Enquiry professes evidence of illegitimate children, money scandals, and a litany of other tarnishing activities. While all of this is clearly absurd, finding accurate information can be difficult. Since I was looking for factual information on the candidates, I figured I’d help everyone out and compose a list of reliable websites.
The Chicago TribuneÂ
Either pick up the paper in print or check it out online. The Chicago Tribune is a reliable source for accurate information on both candidates. Each election season, the Tribune releases an edition in which the editorial staff breaks down the politicians stance on the big issues. This edition covers the presidential campaign and the politicians running for office in Chicago.

League of Women VotersÂ

There is basic political information and other important information, like learning how to register to vote, can also be found on the site. One section of the site is a blog dedicated to covering election news and in particular, news that would be relevant to women.

Fact CheckÂ
It is in a politician’s nature to try to make him or herself look better. This often involves skewing, detracting, or lying about the facts. And let’s be honest, Mitt Romney is smooth. Barack Obama is charismatic. But after taking our SOSC classes, we know better than to be swept away by elegantly written and well-delivered speeches. For straight numbers and statistics on the issues, log on to Fact Check.
