It’s that time of year! The weather is getting warmer, and the urge to sit in the sun with a good book is getting stronger. Don’t have anything to read? I got you! Here is a list of some of my favorite books that give off spring vibes.
Daisy Jones & The six by taylor jenkins reid
Daisy Jones & The Six is a historical fiction novel written by NYT Bestselling author, Taylor Jenkins Reid. This novel tells the story of the forming and disbanding of the 70’s rock band, Daisy Jones & The Six. The story is framed as a documentation of interviews done with the band members, and other people close to the band. This book is so unique and fun, and it truly is able to transport you back to 1970’s Hollywood.
I’ll Give you the sun, by jandy nelson
I’ll Give You The Sun is a young adult novel by Jandy Nelson that follows the lives of a pair of twins, Jude and Noah. This is a perfect coming of age novel, and you are able to get two unique storylines for Jude and Noah. This novel explore themes of love, family, sexuality, and mental health. Jude and Noah’s story is sure to make you laugh and cry as you follow their journeys to finding themselves.
The Cruel Prince by Holly black
If you’re looking for something in the fantasy genre to kick off your spring reading, The Cruel Prince is the way to go. Written by Holly Black, the first book in the Folk in the Air series follows Jude, a mortal girl navigating life in a faerie realm. This book is jam-packed with adventure, beautiful setting, family dynamics, and love stories, and is a perfect spring read!
Something Wilder by christina lauren
Something Wilder is the upcoming release from romance powerhouse author, Christina Lauren. This romance novel is about the reconnecting of lost love, with a treasure hunt thrown in the mix! While this novel hasn’t been released yet, I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of the book, and I can assure you it’s even better than it sounds! Set in the canyons of Utah, this novel is sure to get you in the mood for adventure. Make sure to get your copy when the novel is released on May 22nd, 2022!
Again, But better by Christine riccio
Again, But Better is another YA recommendation written by former book-tuber, Christine Riccio. This novel follows Shane, a college student who feels like she’s not getting the most out of her college experience, as she decides to study abroad in London. This novel is fun and lighthearted and is great for anyone who’s thinking of studying abroad! While you may think you have an idea of how this novel will play out, I promise that there are some big twists in store for you.
Second First impressions by sally thorne
Second First Impressions is a romance story written by the author who wrote the hit novel, The Hating Game. This book follows Ruthie, a twenty-something who surrounds herself with senior citizens while working at a nursing home. Ruthie is forced to remember her own age when a new young person enters her life at the nursing home. This opposites attract romance is sure to make you smile, and also, there’s turtles!
