As we end our first month of the semester, the dining hall meals are undoubtedly becoming pretty repetitive. If you’re anything like me, I’m always hungry, so I quickly needed to rethink all my meal options. Here are some easy, dorm-friendly snacks and recipes to help spice up your day and satisfy those late-night cravings.

Chips and Salsa

Starting off strong is the classic chips and salsa. How could you go wrong? I find myself craving this throughout the day, and it’s super easy to have on hand in your dorm. Don’t want to go for salsa? You can also opt for some guacamole, hummus, or whatever dip your heart desires.

Yogurt bowls

This is possibly my favorite snack, and something I lived on over the summer. Yogurt bowls are so versatile too! Make sure you have some fruit, granola, honey, almond butter, and *of course* yogurt on hand to whip up this quick and easy snack!

Rice cakes

If you knew me last year, my rice cakes got me through each semester. They are the perfect snack and have a variety of flavors. If you want to spice things up, you can add peanut butter, jam, or any other type of spread on top!

Pretzels and cream cheese

This might be a little out there, but I love the combination of pretzels and cream cheese. Once again, this is such an easy pairing to keep in your dorm and is super tasty too (I recommend everyone to try it).

Okay, this is probably not considered a snack, but it is always super important to have hot drinks like this on hand in your dorm (especially as it gets colder!) Having a Keurig is super handy in these scenarios, but you can also put a mug of water in the microwave to heat up water!

Tea, Coffee, and Hot Chocolate

Granola bars

I think granola bars are the epitome of a college snack. They are always sold out of them at the grocery stores around here, but I cannot blame everyone- they are quick, convenient, healthy (for the most part), and delicious. There are so many different kinds too, so you are bound to find something you like.

Popcorn

Microwavable or pre-popped, this is the staple dorm snack. Personally, I have both sitting in my snack drawer, so it depends on what type of mood I am in deciding which I want to eat. A movie night, though? You can always catch me with some microwave popcorn.

Chocolate/yogurt covered pretzels

I am always down for a sweet and salty duo, hence my love for chocolate-covered pretzels. I always had them on hand last year in my dorm and they were the perfect thing to come home to after a long day (I am not exaggerating). For all those with a sweet tooth, I highly recommend it.

ICe Cream

Speaking of a sweet tooth, what is one without some ice cream? If there is one thing that I will always have on hand in my dorm, it is ice cream. Especially in college, I like to buy serving-size containers so that they are easier to store away and manage.

String cheese

String cheese is underrated. Going back to my childhood roots, I always love having these on hand in my dorm room. They are super easy to take on the go too!

Cereal

Even though I am not much of a cereal girl personally, this is something my roommates and I always have on end. For those early mornings or late-night snacks, cereal is the perfect way to go.

There you have it, my ultimate dorm recipe and snack list. Personally, I am feeling quite hungry now, so I see another grocery store trip in my future to stock up on these essentials once again.
