What was your favorite part about first joining a sorority?Â
My favorite part was definitely how warm and welcoming all of my new sisters were! I had an amazing new member coordinator to help me and my class through the first few weeks and got to meet my perfect big, grandbig, and ggbig.
Â
What is your favorite part now?Â
My favorite part now is getting to live with my best friends in the Husky Village house, and spending time with my little!Â
Â
Your sorority is Pi Beta Phi, can you tell us a little about your philanthropy?Â
Our philanthropy is literacy, which we raise money for through the Pi Phi Foundation and Read>Lead>Achieve. Every Friday, a group of sisters go to a nearby school to read with students and also donate books!
Â
What made you want to take on the position of president?Â
I was motivated to take on the position of president because I care so much about Pi Phi and wanted to do everything I could to make our chapter successful. I’m so happy that this position has given me a deeper connection with each sister and a new appreciation for our chapter and organization.
Â
Why UConn?Â
Growing up in Connecticut and having both my parents as UConn alumni, going to UConn was always a dream of mine! I have always loved the campus and felt at home here ever since I was little.Â
Â
Other then Pi Phi, what else are you involved in on campus?Â
I am a member of Pencils of Promise, an organization that raises money to build schools in underdeveloped countries, like Ghana, Laos and Nicaragua. We hold fundraisers throughout the year like food delivery and candy-grams!
