The Top Ten Things We Wish We Could Have Done with Kim’s Wedding Fund

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

It has been estimated that Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ lavish wedding (held on August 20,th, in case you missed the TV special), cost the pair $10 million. Seventy-two days later, on October 31st, the couple called it quits. If your mind hasn’t already been blown by the fact that the beautiful Ms. Kardashian has managed to turn her “personal” life into a lucrative media circus yet again, allow me to make you want to swear off reality stars for good with “The Top Ten Things We Wish We Could Have Done with Kim’s Wedding Fund.” Believe it or not, $10 million can do a lot more than just pay for a swanky celebration.

  1. First of all, with $10 million, you could buy 2,850 ponies and satisfy that Christmas wish you had throughout elementary school…and middle school and high school. Plus, you could give the extra 2,849 ponies away to all the other deprived little girls in your town.
  1. On a more serious note, you could pay for 390 years of in-state tuition at UConn, or 190 years of Ivy League education at Harvard.
  1. Back to completely frivolous spending: With $10 million, you could buy one medium Pinkberry frozen yogurt a day for the next 7,827 years. Delicious!
  1. If you wanted to travel a little with Kim’s dough, you could fly from New York to Sydney, Australia 5,555 times. Weekend trips to the Opera House (for you and everyone you know, for the rest of your lives), anyone?
  1. Want to stay close to campus instead? With $10 million, you could rent an apartment in Carriage for 437 years.
  1. Here’s one that will probably erase any good feelings about Kim’s spending habits that you still cling to: With $10 million, you could feed 156,347 African families for a whole year. (That’s $1.23 per family per week.) You could feed 562 American families for the same amount of time.
  1. If you wanted to, you could pretend to be Oprah (“YOU get a car! YOU get a car! YOU get a car!”) and buy enough 2012 Ford Mustangs to give one to every student in your lectures—448 to be exact.
  1. If you still had a wedding to pay for, you could take care of all of the expenses for 376 average American ceremonies. You could also pay for 50 weddings in front of Cinderella’s castle at Disney World.
  1. With $10 million, you could pay Pauly D. to DJ your bar night at Huskies 500 times. You could also get Sammi to show up and party with you 667 times.
  1. Finally, with $10 million, you could rent a city billboard for 926 years and use it to say, “Hey, Kim! Money can’t buy happiness!”
