When I was in high school, I started to become really fascinated with fashion and began to experiment with my closet.  Ever since then, it has become habitual to dress up for class every day. My morning routine has become very regimented, but I enjoy the process. A Her Campus writer recently wrote an article about why she does not dress up for class, so I decided to compile a list as to why I choose to dress up.
Dressing for the Job
How many times have you stood in front of your closet gazing at your clothes without the slightest clue as to what to wear? This was always a huge challenge for me, especially on days when I had to be up and ready to go by 8 a.m. But something that has always helped me, was when I envisioned myself as a professional. Now I present myself in a way that reflects my professionalism.
Dress Well, Test Well
Perhaps this saying is just an old clichĂ©, but whenever I dress well for an exam, I always feel more comfortable while taking it. On exam days, I like to wake up a little earlier to put some more effort into my outfit, makeup, and hair. Sometimes the extra confidence boost is just the fix for that orgo exam everyone is dreading. Â
A Boost of Confidence
Have you ever put on a dress that just makes you feel good? Imagine having that feeling almost every day. Of course everyone has their off days, but I found that dressing up on the daily truly helps my confidence. Knowing that I have put thought and effort into my outfit allows me to carry myself in a way that I take pride in. It is so important to love your body, and if athletic clothes is what makes you feel beautiful, then rock that. For me, that beauty comes from a cute ensemble.
Sometimes You Just Feel Like It
There are days (usually ones that follow shopping sprees) where I just feel inspired to put on a cute outfit. Sometimes I find a cute dress in my wardrobe that I haven’t worn in forever, and feel inclined to wear it. There are so many more reasons why this happens, but when the inspiration comes, I run with it.
Whether you rock sweatpants and a scrunchie or a dress and heels, always remember to own it, collegiettes!Â
