The natural death of our protagonist’s mother, along with the fatal accident of her daughter results in menacing cult activity, which also happens to be a long-kept family secret. Will the summoned evil entity take hold of our family?  This film is extremely well written and thought out. Every scene has you on the edge of your seat in suspense and you constantly have an unsettling and eerie feeling in the pit of your stomach. One thing that made this film stand out to me more than others was the amount of mental gymnastics I had to do to understand the plot. It really makes you think and hold your attention throughout.Â

I had to include both of the Sinister movies because they are equally scary. They both center around the same plot and “villain” but have different characters and a different storyline. The few things I would like to mention about the Sinister movies though is that in addition to being extremely graphic and gruesome, they have a story that’s never been told before. They also add in aspects of artistry such as the sound effects amplify the plot to make it more frightening.
