7 Perfect Movies For Your Wine Night

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

Everybody needs a wine night once in a while (or, during midterm season, once a week). Wine goes perfectly with movies, and this list of movies (which are all available on Netflix!) will complement whatever kind of wine you’re drinking in the best way possible. Grab your girls, pour some wine and get comfy on the couch with some blankets and sweats.

1. A Royal Night Out

Follow Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret on a night out on the town after World War II has ended in 1945 as they find themselves going on crazy adventures and making new friendships that could become romances.

2. The Princess Bride

It’s The Princess Bride. Enough said.

3. The Last Five Years

Wine goes perfectly with this movie starring singing sensations Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan. If you liked Kendrick in the Pitch Perfect movies, you’re going to adore her as Kathy in this musical. And, who doesn’t want to stare at Jeremy Jordan for a couple hours?

4. The Proposal

This movie is not only perfect for a wine night, but it’s great for a wine and girls’ night combined! It’s just as funny the tenth time you watch it, so you know you’ll be laughing like crazy surrounded by your favorite gals.

5. Grease

Grease is a classic, and sipping on some wine while jamming out to your favorite songs is sure to make your night perfect.

6. Legally Blonde

Who wouldn’t want to have a wine night with ~the~ Elle Woods? She wouldn’t even make you feel guilty about having a wine night instead of studying.

7. 13 Going on 30

13 Going on 30 is the perfect rom-com to go with that glass of wine in your hand. You’ll laugh out loud and remember that growing up isn’t too bad.

Pop the popcorn, uncork the wine and enjoy!
