The 9 Types of People You Meet on Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

The Drunk High Schooler

Most likely a senior in high school. An older sibling or cousin in college probably brought them along. This is their first real spring break, and they’re trying to hang with the big kids, but sadly, cannot hang.

Where You Can Find Them: At the hospital getting their stomach pumped.

The Hot Mess

This girl likes to party, but things never end well for her. She ends up spending the most of her spring break drunk and ugly crying.

Where You Can Find Them: Crying in  the bathroom and texting her ex.

The Lightweight

This person didn’t drink in high school and doesn’t drink much at college. They most likely have a super hard major and spend most of their time studying. However, their friends talked them into taking a week off and comeon a spring break trip. But they cannot hold their alcohol and will not remember 90% of the week.

Where You Can Find Them: Puking while their friend holds their hair back.

The Police

They’re the last person you want to run into. But here they are at the beach handing out tickets and escorting people to the drunk tank.

Where You Can Find Them: Right behind you.

The Party Girl

This girl knows how to party, and she’s a good time. She drinks like a fish and may be kind of a mess, but she’s the friend you need. Somehow, she seems to know everyone, and everyone knows her. She always has a drink in her hand and a list of parties in her phone.

Where You Can Find Them: Doing kegstands and beer bongs while dancing on tables.

The Jersey Shore Wannabe

This guy looks fresh off the hit-show “Jersey Shore.” He thinks he’s cooler than he actually is and refers to people as “grenades” while he’s not much of a looker himself. His fake tan is as dark as his soul.

Where You Can Find Them: Fist bumping and getting their GTL on.

The Pale Kid

This white-skinned beauty can’t handle the sun. They will most likely be wearing a layer of sunscreen, a pair of sunglasses, a hat and a sunburn.

Where You Can Find Them: Getting a skin graft for their third-degree burns.

The Frat Boy

The most typical of spring breakers. The frat boy is everywhere. He will most likely be wearing Sperry’s and colored chubbies. He will also be belligerently drunk and hanging on one of his brothers.

Where You Can Find Them: On the beach by his flag, puking and rallying.

The Local

This is the one person who dreads spring break. Their hometown is invaded by thousands of intoxicated college students, and they don’t look forward to it.

Where You Can Find Them: Spraying college students with their hose when they set foot on their lawn.
