Brad Mori ’12

Name: Brad Mori
Year:  ’12, Junior
Status: Single
Hometown: Barrington, Illinois
Major: Finance
Motto: Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” –Oscar Wilde
Campus Activities: Tippie Build (Habitat for Humanity), Iowa men’s Lacrosse
Fun Fact: I went on a road trip through Ireland when I was a senior in high school. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to travel internationally again.
Favorite music: I love music; it gets me through my days.  I’ve been known to be a bit of a 90’s junkie but I’ll listen to anything at least once. Currently my iPod is playing Miami by Will Smith, followed by Nelly’s Country Grammar album, and then some Bare Naked Ladies, with the occasional Relient K and Every Avenue song.  My favorite concert would have to be OAR or The Killers, or The Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Stadium Arcadium Tour; I’m really bad at just picking one…
Favorite Hawkeye sports to watch:
I don’t think you can beat Hawkeye football when it comes to Iowa.  On game days my neighborhood transforms over night, and we host a tailgate in our house and backyard that can grow pretty large.  Then we all go to the game together; it’s pretty crazy to see a community revolve around a sport like that.  All the attention football gets can be a little annoying, honestly, because I’m a huge basketball fan and it seems a lot of sports on campus lose recognition because the community is so obsessed with football.  Sports like Basketball, hockey, lacrosse, Soccer, seem non-existent next to football.
Favorite thing about Iowa: Around March or late February when it finally gets to spring, Iowa becomes completely different. It’s like everyone comes out of hibernation and everything looks so much better. All the snow and sand around here is gone and you can feel spring in the air, I love that about Iowa.
Favorite hangout spot: I’ve always enjoyed The Airliner; they have good food and drinks. We usually end up just hanging out at a friend’s house on the weekends. It doesn’t really matter where I’m at as long as I like the people I’m with.
It really confuses me when girls at Iowa…act dumb to try and get a guy’s attention. When a girl puts on a fake conversation, I don’t understand why!
My idea of a perfect first date: That’s the great thing about Iowa, it’s a huge school with a small-campus feel, so there is a lot of things you can do. You can go to a local restaurant like Short’s, grab a bite to eat, and then see a local performance…basically anything where I can get to know the girl better.
