Celebrity Update: Glamour’s Best Dressed Celebrity Women of 2012

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

Glamour, Britain’s number one women’s magazine has asked the public to vote, yet again, for the best-dressed celebrity women. This year, there was a surprising turn when Kristen Stewart was at the top of the list. Not necessarily because she has the best clothes or style but because “she’s the kind of girl with a style that we can all relate to.” Although I’m not sure I agree with some of the choices, here are a few I loved and adore!

#2 Emma Watson

The former Harry Potter star, Emma Watson went from capes to glamour. Although she first stepped out into the lime light as a little girl, she makes it known she is no longer that little girl anymore. Looking fabulous from head to toe every time she hits the red carpet, she received second place in Glamour’s best-dressed women of 2012, only beaten out by Kristen Stewart. Last year she came in first place in the UK magazine’s competition. Glamour said: “Emma never puts a well-heeled foot wrong, from flying the Brit flag in Burberry trenches, to rocking fun Valentino and Dior frocks on the red carpet. A colour chameleon, she looks stunning in both rainbow brights and monochrome, cementing her place in the style set.”

#3 Victoria Beckham

Former Spice girl and fashion designer, Victoria Beckham always looks chic and flawless when she steps out into the public, including after long flights and work. How does she do it? On her recent promotional trip to Hong Kong, her style was praised for the fact that her cardigan and plaited hair softened her look. She may be one of the few women praised for wearing a cardigan. Glamour described her as: “Everyone from Blake Lively to Gwyneth Paltrow has been snapped in her designs, but no one does justice to Victoria Beckham quite like VB herself. Baby daughter Harper is her new favourite accessory – we love their adorable coordinating looks.”

#4 Kate Middleton

After watching the royal wedding, it was clear by her wedding dress she would become a fashion icon. She was one of the most flawless bride’s ever seen. The petite duchess looks stunning every time she walks out into the public, whether it be an appearance, work, or another day out; she always looks amazing and put together. Glamour describes her as: “The Duchess of Cambridge’s classic elegance has set the high street alight, causing both Zara and Reiss to sell out of her favourite pieces.”

#7 Blake Lively

This stunning, long legged blonde looks adorable in whatever outfit she has on. The Gossip Girl star never leaves the house without her hair done and makeup on, and her clothes are to die for. She loves designer clothes and knows how to style and match them with accessories and shoes. She is one gorgeous celebrity. Glamour describes her saying: “Valentino, Chanel and Marchesa are go-to designers for the blonde bombshell with an innate sense of style.”
