How You Feel At The End Of The Semester, As Told By Simon Cowell

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

Simon Cowell is best-known for his role as the cruelly critical judge, so many people would be surprised to know he’s also a bit of a softie. Whether you love him or hate him, he sure is expressive, and many of his faces speak to exactly what we’re all going through at the end of the semester.

When the professor decides to keep you the full class time on a nice day

When your teacher asks why you weren’t in class

When a peer asks you why you weren’t in class

When your professor says the final will be cumulative

When you have friends at other schools who actually have “dead weeks”

When the teacher leaves four weeks worth of material until the last class and expects you to know it for the final

When you are once again up until 3 a.m. working on a paper

When your body decides to get you sick during finals week

When you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror after not showering for three days and getting zero sleep

When you are literally just so freaking done with every person you come into contact with

When someone outdoes you in how little sleep they’ve gotten

When your parents ask if you’ll finish off the semester with good grades

When someone says they’ve been eating healthy and going to the gym every day

When your friends convince you to go out during finals week even though you still have so much to do

When the delirium hits at 3 a.m. during a late-night study sesh

When you try to convince yourself it would be okay to drop out of college

When you are trying the hardest you can to keep your eyes open while studying

When your roommates decide to invite friends over at midnight the night before a 7 a.m. final

When you’re the first to finish your final

When you have to say goodbye to all your besties for the summer

When you finally get to go the frick home
