Her Campus Magazine reaches One Million Collegiettes Goal
(IOWA CITY – 3/5/2012) — Her Campus Magazine reaches its goal to have one million collegiettes visit Her Campus during the month of February. After a successful campaign, Her Campus is now in competition with major print-based publications, including Vanity Fair.
The announcement was made via email to Her Campus contributing writers, editors, and campus correspondents on March 4. The 1.2 million visits to HerCampus.com last month means the magazine will be donating 1 million impressions on the Her Campus site to She’s the First, a non-for-profit organization that sponsors girls’ education in the developing world, helping them to be the first in their families to graduate.
“I am THRILLED to announce that our One Million Collegiettes campaign was a huge SUCCESS…this is an incredible accomplishment that everyone should feel extremely proud of,” said Stephanie Kaplan, CEO, Co-Founder, and Editor-in-Chief of Her Campus Magazine.
Her Campus also created a contest to help motivate writers that allowed the winning writer and branch with the most article views to receive the Top Branch Award and Top Writer Award. The branch article published in February that received the most page views was HC BC – The HC BC Edition: Sh!t BC Girls Say (Starring Campus Celeb Nate Richardson) by Bridgid O’Brien with a total of 6,389 page views, winning a $100 cash prize for the winning branch or a $200 HC Shop credit.
A close second place was HC Southern Miss for the article, We Will Always Love You: A “Tweet” Tribute to Whitney Houston by Crystal Garner, with 6,368 page views.
In celebration of this accomplishment, the Her Campus staff held an HC Spirit Day on March 5, wearing HC T-shirts and showing off their pride.
Her Campus has also recently launched three new campus branches this week at the University of Delaware, San Francisco, and Denison.
Her Campus Magazine is a collegiette magazine for college women. With national content on Style, Beauty, Health, Love, Life, and Career, supplemented by campus-specific content produced by teams of students at 200+ colleges across the country.
