Well, we’re getting back to what songs I’m obsessing over this month and why I think you should check them out. Keep scrolling to see which ones made it!

“I Met You When We Were 18”- Lauv

Yes, I haven’t specified which song because I highly recommend that you listen to the whole album. Every song, every story and every word. This guy is just phenomenal in my eyes. He produces his own music, his songs have specific stories behind them and they’re just so catchy! I haven’t listened to a single song of his that I dislike, that’s how much I love his music.

“Superhero”- Lauv

Okay yes, another one. *Cue DJ Khaled* All jokes aside, the story behind making this song is just…wow. This song is music and journalism combined. At one of his concerts, Lauv told his audience to write whatever they were thinking about in that moment and put it into a box. When he opened that box after the concert was over, he saw a note that said “I met a superhero. I lost her. I want her back.” Naturally, this guy made a song about it and surprise surprise, it sounds amazing. He tracked the guy down somewhere in Germany and played him a little bit of the song and also heard his story. He and his girl friend were supposed to go to the concert together, but they had a fight, so he was at the concert alone. The thing that fascinates me is Lauv’s ability to spot a good opportunity. He looked at the note and it struck a chord within him, so he got to work. A great song was born.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again (soundtrack)

Yeah, you need to listen to this entire soundtrack. I watched this movie over the summer, the sequel to the first Mamma Mia, and as an ABBA fan, I enjoyed it very much. The voices of the cast were great. The thing that I particularly like about this series is that some of the actors in the movie are not phenomenal singers, but they have voices that work for the movie. It makes the whole experience so much more authentic and normal. Lily James and Amanda Seyfried on the other hand, have angelic voices that I could honestly listen to all day.

“Beg”- Jack&Jack

I haven’t listened to many songs by Jack&Jack, but the few that I have, I actually really like. This is a very cool pop song that has a great chorus. They both have different voices and compliment one another. In the acoustic version, Jack Johnson raps as well, which gives a cool twist to the original song. It’s very catchy and I am 100% positive that you will have this song stuck in your head for awhile.
