Winter Playlists for Every Winter Mood

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

These playlists go out to the college students who love music (me) and who are not big fans of winter and the cold it entails (also me). Hopefully they’ll liven you up or fit that exact melancholy feeling you’ve been had since all the colorful leaves dissappeared.

Winter: This playlist is one that simply goes with the general winter vibe. With a mix of subtle acoustic tracks, haunting a cappella and chill folksy songs, there’s enough for everyone to enjoy. Good for walking to class on a dreary day or listening to whilst studying into the wee hours of the morn!

New Jams: A compilation of songs just recently released, this is a great playlist to listen to if you like keeping up with the newest pop songs that everybody loves. Perfect for getting ready for a night on the town or for jamming by yourself with your fuzzy socks on.

Sleepy Morning: A mixture of sad, sappy and somber songs (some may even be all three!), this is the perfect playlist for brewing coffee, tea, hot cocoa or whatever hot drink you might fancy, and then taking it back to your piled-with-eleven-blankets bed with you.

Christmas: And what is a collection of winter playlists without one featuring both classic and up-and-coming Christmas songs? Play this while opening presents on Christmas morning or while cleaning up after the family members that you so adore have left the festivities.

Enjoy your winter and Christmas break, Collegiettes! And make sure you bundle up because “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”!
