Your Complete Starbucks Holiday Drink Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

There are so many great festivities and foods around the holiday season with one of my favorite guilty pleasures being the Starbucks holiday drinks. I love the designs of the red cups and the drink flavors they debut to get us all in the holiday spirit. I’ve tried them all for you, and here’s what I think! Also, how cute are the cups this year?!

Chestnut Praline Latte

Perfectly nutty and sweet, this drink is one of my favorites. It reminds me of those candy coated nuts that are sold during the holiday season. Definitely get this one to put you in a festive mood.

Eggnog Latte

The name is pretty self-explanatory; if you love eggnog and coffee, this will be a match made in heaven for you.

Holiday Spice Flat White

Up until a month ago, I had no idea what a flat white was. The answer: it is made with ristretto shots of espresso and whole milk. Basically, it sort of tastes like a latte but creamier because of the whole milk. For the holiday edition, Starbucks adds their holiday spice blend consisting of nutmeg, clove, sugar and cinnamon. This one is very flavorful and great when you are not in the mood for a super sweet drink.

Peppermint Mocha

While peppermint mochas are a holiday classic, I don’t think there’s anything special about Starbucks’ version. Personally, I would say to skip this one in favor of one of their more creative drinks.

Spiced Sweet Cream Cold Brew

This one is iced, so it might not be the best when it’s a freezing cold winter day. But I really recommend giving it a try! While the coffee flavor is strong, the holiday spice blend and vanilla sweet cream balances it out. Plus, look at how beautiful this drink is once the cream is added (totally Instagram-worthy).

Caramel Brulee Latte

Similar to a caramel latte, but the caramel flavor is more intense and has an extra nutty flavor. Get this when you really want (let’s be real: need) a cup of really sweet, holiday goodness.

I hope this inspires you to treat yourself to a Starbucks holiday drink next time you are out and about, whether you are holiday shopping or just need a break from the cold! Do you have a favorite drink during the most wonderful time of the year?
