Black Bears Can’t Wait to Black Out- Barstool Style

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Maine chapter.

Before Barstool girls would shutter at the thought of posting pictures of themselves online to be critiqued by their peers and college goers would delete any record of their drunken escapades instead of emailing them to everyone they know. But Barstool changed things. Barstool made being a fool…cool. Actually, El Prez made it more than cool; he made it something to be sought after.

Now you can get lost trying to make your way between Boston Barstool, New York Barstool, Barstool U or Stool La La, but before all of those there was simply BarstoolSports.com, a blog about everything Bruins, Red Sox and Pats. El Prez posted his obscene commentary on bean town’s latest athletics for any and all of his followers to read. But people, mainly guys, couldn’t get enough of it. As Charlie Merritt, a fourth year at UMaine say’s, “It’s uncensored bro talk and fresh pictures of hott girls…what guy wouldn’t want to keep coming back?” And apparently Charlie isn’t the only one who thinks that way- the sites traffic reports have been increasing almost exponentially over the past year and obtaining more and more dedicated followers.

What did most of the boy Black Bears say was their favorite part of Barstool? Not too surprisingly most guys couldn’t help but mention the Daily Smoke Show or Guess that A$$. However, the guys also see beyond the scantily dressed girls and up-to-date sports postings and want to know how El Prez gets away with being so ridiculous. You can’t help but admire the shameless way he speaks his mind- even when it receives backlash from those a tad more conservative. Whether its rating the most recent teacher-student sex scandal or commenting on the size of Tom Brady’s son, El Prez says what he wants when he wants and apologies from him are more rare on Barstool than ugly girls. If you want a simple yet honest reason why boys are obsessed with Barstool just ask Brad Antenore who sums it up by saying it’s just, “Men doing manly things.”

So get ready to black out this Wednesday, November 30th, at Curva Ultra Lounge when the sold out Barstool tour comes to UMaine with the largest black light party college students have ever seen. Wear white, be pumped and get ready for a mid-week black out.

Lets give a big thanks to Curva and El Prez for bringing the party to us and lets show Barstool that no one BLACK’S OUT like BLACK BEARS!
