This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Maine chapter.

This weeks campus celebrities are the five DJs that will be performing at this Fridays Stoplight party in the Memorial Union! These five young talents will share their love for music and entertain their fellow students dressed in red yellow or green, depending on relationship status. Come join Dj Tubone, Dj Lucky Penny, Dj Eli Dolohov, Trent Bechard, and PL@yBoxX drop their sickest beats until 1am! Her Campus got to know the campus celebrities a little better.

DJ Tubone, more commonly known as Igor Radosaviljevic says his love for Djing started in elementary school, when he first started listening to electronic music. While growing up, Radosaviljevic had many DJ idols that pushed him to want to do the same. One of his all time favorite idols is Armin Van Burren. Radosaviljevic says, “I think its pretty sick when people rage to you music.” So make sure you join him on Friday night for some raging!

Dj Tubone is a member of Cirkiss along with Dj Lucky Penny, better known as Collin Spillane. Dj Lucky Penny grew up in Brunswick Maine and says his love for music started in the 3rd grade with his two very first CDs, Savage Garden and Five. Spillane originally listened to alternative rock such as limp Bizkit and then went into metal and hard rock around 6th grade. He settled once he found “a tasty diet of hip-hop and rap in high school.” Spillane is a 4th year student studying Business Management and Innovation Engineering, it is said that his secret talent is being able to wear glasses, pat, his head, and rub his stomach, all at the same time. Pretty Impressive. So come join Dj Lucky Penny at this Friday’s Stoplight extravaganza, you might even see him break a move with his preferred dance moves- the Macarena and the chicken dance!

Trent Bechard, out of Cape Elizabeth Maine will also be making an appearance at this first time ever event. His inspiration comes from Bro Safari, Lazerdisk, Diplo, Dillion Francis and Billy Gent. Make sure to check him out and maybe experience a little Moombaton, his favorite type of music, which is a mix of reggaeton and elector. Sounds like some good dance music to me.

Dj Eli Dolohov, whose real name is Eli Dolloff, is out of South Paris, Maine, and came up with his DJ name from his Russian roots. His love for music started when he was about 10 years old and his grandfather introduced him to an old record player. Dolloff said he can remember scratching funk records and pretending he was a famous DJ. He started using Virtual DJ trying to take different genres of music and combining them into one.  In high-school, he got to the point of turning DJ’ing into a source of making money and got serious about it. His current inspiration is Skrillex, Dolloff enjoys Skrillexs’ unique blending of dance, electro, glitch, and dub step. Like Skrillex, Dolloff incorporates a mix of dub step, electro drum’n’bass, and house into his own music. Anything that is fast faced and changes frequently has a place in Dolloff’s heart. He loves trying to manipulate people emotions and give them goose bumps with buildups and breaks downs. So make sure to stop by on Friday to experience some Goosebump-giving-beats.

Last but not least, PL@yBoxX will be joing us this Friday.PL@yBoxX, Better known as Drew King, told me his DJ name came from inspiration from Djing on his iPad for the first time. Coming up with the name PL@yBoxX from the little black box that plays music, pretty clever! His love for music was passed down from his grandfather, who King says was a pretty awesome Dj back in the day. King’s current inspiration includes a broad array of artists that King respects because of their style, Just to name a few Nero, Avicii, Flux Pavilion, Kascasde, Swedish House Mafid, Diplo, and Rusko. King’s most memorable highlight of his career Djing was opening for Lazerdisk party sex. King never expected to be so popular in his first 2 month, with 200 downloads and over 2,000 plays. Now hes just having fun with it and encourages us all to “STAY HUNGRY”. So don’t miss PL@BoxX this Friday, December 2nd!

As you can see this event is packed with high-spirited and fun DJ’s who are pumped to get everyone dancing. Our very own Her Campus will have a photo booth to catch all the action on camera. So mark your calendars for this Friday night, hope to see you all there!Â
