Every year, it’s fun to watch people predict what exactly will be a hot item for each season. For the winter, we saw a lot of fur trim coats, puffer coats, and oversized knits. As we transition to spring, change is obvious.People are getting ready to enjoy better weather with light and breezy clothes. Recently, trends have been showing pops of color and lots of cinched materials. Although they’ve been a trend for a while now, people are all over fanny packs, specifically the Lululemon Camera Bag. So as we close out of the semester and move into the season of summer, what should you keep in mind?

Tube tops- This is a trend that I’m sure everyone remembers being a part of years ago. Lots of clothing stores are taking on a revamp of the original idea of tube tops. These revamped tube tops are leather, quilted, and even satin. These simple pieces of clothing are sure to be a staple this summer with the ability to have little constraint and the potential to be worn with just about anything.

Halter tops: Kind of a play on tube tops, but adding a little more support for the girls. The halter tops you should expect to see are simple strings that tie around your neck, not as much as the chunky halter tops a lot of people have been wearing. These have so many variations and patterns, such as crossing the strings and having cut-outs.. Target recently released one that a lot of people, including myself, thought was a skirt.

The Basic ROYGBIV: In the spring, it’s pretty common to be wearing a pastel color to slowly move to warming up for the summer. Last year, neons were all the rage-bathing suits, tops, pants, you name it. Everyone had a neon piece in their closet. This year, the expectation is your classic rainbow colors-not pastel, and not a dark color but a solid and saturated blue, purple, etc. These colors are becoming more popular on fashion websites and people are starting to get rid of the vibrant colors from last year.

Y2K: It’s not uncommon for past decades to make a reappearance further down the timeline. We have seen it before with ’90s babes being a huge trend. Low-rise jeans and slip dresses were hot commodities within the past few years. As someone who lived in the early 2000s, there are a few of these pieces that I’m excited to see come back. We’ll see the translucent fun-colored sunglasses, tiny mini skirts, and of course a classic velour tracksuit. Get your pink and butterflies patterns now while you can ladies!
