15 Lessons We Can Learn From NBC’s “The Office”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

Some people think that The Office was just a goofy, awkward workplace mockumentary with little to no value. Well Collegiettes, I am here to tell you otherwise. Here are just a few of the lessons that we all can learn from this trend-starting television show.

1. If you’re having a bad day that can’t seem to possibly get any worse, there is no need to worry…

… Because there is always that one person who you know will cheer you up.

2. When you’re completely lost in a conversation… just maintain eye contact and nod your head.

3. Be sure to document important memories, for one day you will want to look back on them.

4. Don’t worry about what others think about you. You’re perfect the way you are!

5. When you don’t have anything nice to say…

… sometimes it’s best to just say nothing at all.

6. Sometimes love hurts…

7. Ice cream really does make everything better.

8. Team-building activities are always a great idea.

9. Epiphanies aren’t always a good thing.

10. Apparently you can’t just declare bankruptcy…

11. Party themes are a necessity.

12. We are in “the good old days,” Collegiettes, so enjoy it while it lasts.

13. There is no shame in a little victory dance, we all do it.

14. Make sure you get your facts straight before giving a presentation…

15. If your best friend can make you forget the world around you…

… you just might be soulmates.
