Hi there, Collegiettes! Need something to do over the weekend to take off stress from school work? Take a day off to yourself and watch these great shows on Netflix. Whether you’re looking for a new series to begin or just want to rewatch your favorite episodes, the best thing about Netflix is that there’s no commercials so you can binge watch all you want!
Â
1. Gossip Girl
Just like Fergie’s song Glamorous, you’ll be “flying first class up in the sky” when you’re hanging out with these Upper East Siders. This series revolves around the crew consisting of Blair, Serena, Chuck, Nate, and Dan who all go to the same private school. Each episode is packed with drama, love triangles, schemes, and parties so you’re in for a ride! Also looking at Blair and Serena’s love life it makes us girls want to look for our very own Chuck Bass or maybe you prefer “Lonely Boy?” Your choice, all we do know is that we love “xoxo, Gossip Girl.“

2. Â Orangle Is The New Black Â
This Netflix original series follows the story of Piper Chapman, a thirty year old woman, who is sentenced to fifteen months in jail after being convicted of hustling drugs. If you are looking for a diverse group of interesting characters who all have a mysterious background, then you have come to the right place. Each episode, there are scenes that focus on a specific character and reveal how they wound up in jail. OITNB has everything from sassy bad b*tches, to raunchy humor, to unexpected friendships.
3. Supernatural
Looking to get a bit spooked? Follow the lives of the two BA Winchester brothers as they cruise around in their Chevy Impala fighting everything supernatural like witches, demons, and monsters. With its spooky plots, every episode is sure to get your heart racing.
4. American Horror Story
This show will definitely give you the creeps too. There are two seasons available on Netflix right now, but the cool thing is that the seasons aren’t continuous. It’s the same cast but a completely different story line. If you’re looking for something to jump into then AHS is the way to go. Just be ready for a lot of blood and gore in the first season “Murder House” and second season “Asylum.”
5. New Girl
We can all relate to Jessica Day’s struggles of being a girl in this adorable series starring out beloved Zooey Deschanel. An elementary school teacher moves in to an apartment full of guys who later become some of her closest friends. You have your typical good guy, the wannabe womanizer, and the bro friend. Each episode never fails to put a smile on our faces with its quirky jokes and Zooey’s random outbreaks into song.
6. One Tree Hill
Pretty sure every girl watched One Tree Hill in their younger teenage days because it just got us through life. Netflix has the complete series of this classic show on their cue so you can watch however many episodes you want in one sitting. The storyline follows the lives of a group of high schoolers at Tree Hill High and show how their relationships with each other develop through events in their lives. With lovable characters and great stories and morals targeting sensitive young adult issues, it’s hard to get away from the TV once you get tied up in all the drama.
7. Friday Night Lights
Another high school series is Friday Night Lights, taken place in the fictional town of Dillon, Texas. If you’re into the whole classic football high school then you will love this series. This series also takes a look at issues that every teenager dealt with in high school and teaches valuable life lessons. This show dives deep into their main characters and makes you feel as if you know them personally (we wouldn’t mind getting to know Tim Riggins).
Netflix + food = happiness. Enjoy your binge watching, Collegiettes!
