Fabulous Fall Fingers: What Nail Polish Should You Rock This Season?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

Now that fall is officially here and the leaves are changing, so should the colors on your nails! Let the pastels hibernate until next summer, and get your nails ready for cool colors for a trendy fall semester! Here’s the 4-1-1 on what colors will give you the freshest fingertips this fall!

Neutral colors are really in this season and go with ANY outfit! Grey, beige, khaki, and chocolate brown are all neutrals you should experiment with. Black is also making a comeback, so don’t be afraid to go bold with it! Navy is a great alternative if you think that black is too dark.

Dark shades of your favorite color are always great for fall. Deep reds and purples— dark cherry, burgundy, and plum—look great on every skin tone!

Metallics are also trendy this season; they will add some pizazz to your outfit and are great for going out!

In terms of what brands and polishes are best, it really is a personal decision that is up to you. Drugstore nail polishes are great because you can get a great bang for your buck! You can try a bunch of different colors without making a huge dent in your wallet. Perfect for a college girl on a budget!

On the other hand (pun intended), nail polishes that you can purchase at a salon or cosmetic store will be pricier, but better quality and won’t chip as easily. I would highly recommend you consider buying a couple of these once you find colors that you really love.

Happy fall collegiettes™! HCXO!
