I know that attempting New York City is a daunting task, but have no fear Colliegettes! This list of hidden gems is going to save each and every one of you from tacky tourist traps and overcrowded theme restaurants.
1. Creperie NYC
My favorite thing about living in New York City is being able to walk outside my building and have amazing food at my fingertips. When visiting NYC, it is crucial that you visit the Creperie NYC. They have the absolute best crepes and are open until 4 a.m. so it’s pretty conveinent for late night study breaks or after party snacks. The atmosphere is cozy and the people who work there are extremely friendly.
The High Line Park has recently been transformed from an old railroad to a walkway, park, and hang out spot for many a New Yorker. The High Line offers beautiful views and a good walk, about 1 mile across Manhattan’s Lower West Side. Grab some friends and explore Manhattan.
3. GastroMarket
The GastroMarket is a small, intimate restaurant that is comprised of an indoor eating area with a full bar and an outdoor garden eating area. As you may know, it is hard to find stars in New York City so these beautiful hanging lanterns are definitely a solid attempt at lighting up the night sky. The GastroMarket has amazing sandwhiches, drinks, and desserts. The Molten Chocolate Lava Cake is a must!
From vintage Marc Jacobs to hardly worn Jeffrey Campbells, there’s no doubt that you will find something unique at this hipster ridden consignment shop. With one location in Manhattan and two in Brooklyn, Beacon’s Closet is easily accessable and allows you to let that inner-thrift-shop diva out! It’s definitely possible to spend your whole day picking through the endless racks, so make sure to clear your schedule. Beacon’s Closet also buys back clothes, so bring your old coats and jeans to sell back and earn store credit or even get cash back.
Good luck eating, shopping, and exploring Collegiettes!
