With this semester quickly coming to an end, those of us that are sophomores are under the sudden realization that we are halfway done with our college careers, which means now is kind of the time to freak out. Now is the time to start thinking about our post-graduation plans, to figure out what we want to do with the rest of our lives, or maybe finally settle on a major. Here is a list of the most common feelings we experience, as told by the cast of How I Met Your Mother.Â
1. Realizing that you have two more years left in college.Â
You might be pretty sad that you are halfway done with your college career, but there is so much fun to still be had!
2. Realizing that there are better things to drink than Rubinoff.
In your younger years, Ruby was the alcohol of choice because of its price and availability. Now that you are getting older, it is time to upgrade. Bring on the whiskey, you’re mature now, after all.Â
3. Remembering how far you have come since being a freshman.
Freshman year is notoriously known as the year when you start to become independent and figure out who you are. Yes, you probably made some interesting mistakes, but looking back on who you used to be is always fun.Â
4. Coming to the conclusion that you do not have to go out every weekend.
Last year and this year was probably a blur of those 5 o’clock, “Hey what are you doing tonight?” text messages. With the next two years coming up, the priority is not what party you are going to be hitting up, but instead, might be hanging out with a few close friends and a movie.Â
5. Planning out what your future might look like.
Realizing that you have to be a real adult and start planning for your future is extremely scary. Now is the time to start finding an internship and figuring out what kind of career path you want to take.Â
The beginning of the end feels bittersweet, but remember to look back on your past two years and see all of the wonderful memories that you have created. Look forward to the next two and all of the excitement that is to come in your junior and senior years. Â
