Ah, yes. We have officially reached that point in the semester when things get tough: the midterm slump. It’s something every Collegiette experiences, but there are ways around it.
1. Pamper yourself
It’s easy to spend the whole of the slump in sweatpants and a messy bun. Believe it or not, setting aside a little time for yourself can do wonderful things for your brain. Some of our favorite pampering products include TRESemmé’s new Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray and NYC New York Color’s City Proof 24HR Waterproof Eyeshadow and Eye Primer.
2. Eat right
Question: is there anything more important than food during this stressful time? Answer: no. HC’s favorite place for a study break is Chipotle (especially if you can score one of these buy one get one free cards ).
3. Set aside some time to relax and have fun
Also key when it comes to keeping your sanity. Everyone has a different way to blow off steam: for some it’s working out, for others it’s a Netflix binge. Our favorite? DIY therapy. Martha Stewart is the queen of crafting and has so many incredible ideas for everyone, including those on a budget. (It should also be noted that you can craft while watching Netflix)
4. Think on a broader scale
It’s really easy to get caught up in the moment when you have three essays, two exams and a project due at the same time. Sometimes it’s helpful to take a mental step back and think about the fact that, in the great scheme of things, it isn’t the end of the world. An awesome way to do this is to host a She’s the First Tie-Dye Cupcake bake sale! The proceeds go toward scholarships to girls in low-income places around the world. Plus, who doesn’t love baking? (Or licking the mixer after your friend bakes)
Thank you so much to Her Campus and all of our wonderful sponsors!
