Even though I am a die-hard summer fan, I’ve been really excited about the fall season now that I’m settled into the semester in western Mass. The air feels a little crisper, the sunset comes a little earlier, and all of our favorite drinks and recipes are coming to our kitchens. Growing up in New England, I’ve gotten to enjoy the typical fall activities: hiking, apple picking, Thanksgiving Day turkey trots, you name it. This year, though, feels a little different with the presence of the COVID-19 pandemic still circling across the globe. I’m still excited to make the Fall of 2020 a memorable and exciting season – it is my senior year of college, after all. Here is my Fall 2020 bucket list that is guaranteed to be fun and COVID safe!
- Make My Own Halloween Costume
-
Are you ever that person at a Halloween party that threw their costume together just hours before and you look over at someone else’s costume and think “oh my gosh that’s so cool – I’ll do that next year!” Yeah, me too – and I’m kind of over it. I’m already pinning costume ideas to my Pinterest board and thinking of fun accessories I can put together. One of my friends was the statue of liberty last year and she took inspiration for the headpiece from this photo. I’m excited to test my crafting skills and enjoy taking photos in my Halloween costume with my roommates!
- Pumpkin Carving
-
I’ve dabbled in pumpkin painting for the past couple of years, but I probably haven’t carved a pumpkin since eighth grade. This is a great idea if you live in a house full of roommates or if you’re living at home and your family hasn’t done something like this in a while. I’ve been looking at different ideas, but I’m always a fan of the classic bat carving.
- Build a Polaroid Wall
-
I got my first polaroid camera for my 21st birthday and I love it so much! You can find pretty inexpensive one’s on Amazon. As much as I love summer, there’s no denying that the fall season is ~the~ aesthetic, so I’m itching to get outside and take more polaroid’s with my friends around Amherst. Not to mention that this is the last time I’ll be living near all of these people, so capturing these moments is super important.
- Make My Own Apple Cider!
-
This is a big-shot, but I’m really hoping my roommates will be excited for this one. Here are some “easy” recipes. Worst comes to worst, I’ll re-create my favorite Starbucks drinks at home.
I’m excited to check these things off my bucket lists and make some new memories this fall season!
