There’s nothing quite like spring โ€” it’s a time of rebirth and growth, a time when the whole world slowly starts to come back to life. As ironic as it may be with the weather getting better, there’s nothing more I love doing this time of year than curling up at night to watch a movie. Here are my top five picks for movies to watch to celebrate spring (while avoiding the pollen)!

Groundhog Day (1993)

This classic is the perfect start to the season! Every time I watch this movie, I feel like it’s the first time because it is incredibly funny. This movie is especially appropriate around actual Groundhog Day to set the mood.

Tangled (2010)

It may just be the animation color palette, but this movie screams spring to me. The beautiful aesthetics of Rapunzel entering the world for the first time and the many flower crowns throughout the movie make me want to watch Tangled on the dreary spring days when the world isn’t sure what season it is.

The wizard of oz (1939)

Again, the vibrant visuals are my favorite part of this movie! Its use of dreary sepia tones at the beginning of the movie in Kansas and then transitioning to the Technicolor glory of Oz is fitting for the transition from winter to spring.

Ferris Bueller’s day off (1986)

The amount of times I have fantasized about skipping class ร  la Ferris Bueller is somewhat embarrassing. When classes have you down and you just want to be outside, watch this classic to ignore the bore of homework!

Legally Blonde (2001)

Every time I see Elle’s iconic pink outfits, it makes me want to put together my own spring-inspired fit. Purely for my desire to be Elle Woods and live her life at all times (especially during exam season), this movie had to be on my top five spring movies list.

I hope you enjoy these movies as much as I enjoyed making this list for you! Happy Spring!
