The Soundtrack to My Spring: Seven Songs That Make Me Feel Like Spring Has Sprung.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

As April begins, I can’t help but be reminded everywhere I go that it is finally spring!

There is something so special about spring. Of course, the weather is nicer, and you can lose a few layers, but there is something deeper than that.

There is a certain energy that comes with the change of the season. Listed below are seven of my all-time favorite songs that tap into that magical spring energy.

“Time (You and I)” By Khruangbin

Starting off strong on the list, this song instantly puts me in a good mood. It makes me feel like the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and I have nothing else to do but vibe out to the music.

Seriously, this song is movie-montage in a coming-of-age film-level amazing. The lyrics are especially nostalgic mixed with a killer beat. Press play and enjoy five minutes and 42 seconds of pure bliss.

“Someone New” by Hozier

I feel like this is a fan favorite among my friends. I could listen to Hozier forever. The power and emotion in the vocals are purely beautiful. I honestly think you could play this song for your brother, mother, grandpa, or cousin and they would all love it just the same.

“With a little luck” by Paul mccartney and the wings

Springtime means that love is in the air!

Recently I have been loving all things the Fab Four, including their solo endeavors. This Paul McCartney original will put you in a fun and playful mood and get you in the spring state of mind!

“Side Pony” by lake Street Dive

This song is just so fun. Every time I hear it my mood is instantly boosted. I only just recently discovered Lake Street Dive, but they are so good.

“Light On” by Maggie Rogers

As we have only a few weeks left in the academic year, sometimes it’s nice to have an extra motivating factor to get you through. This Maggie Rogers song is the perfect solution to do just that! After a tough semester of hard work and as we reach the home stretch, allow this upbeat and funky tune to play us out!

*Side note*: check out the ‘live in Paris’ version on YouTube (it is so good — you definitely won’t regret it!)

“Forever & Always (Taylor’s version)” By Taylor Swift

Speaking of springtime being the time for new love, feel free to leave behind whatever, or whoever, was getting you down this past winter.

Of course, as a lifelong swiftie, I feel every season is suitable for a Taylor Swift song. “Forever & Always (Taylor’s Version)” is the perfect song to scream out all that winter seasonal angst that has accumulated the past few months.

“As it Was” By Harry Styles

Last but not least, the newest addition to my springtime playlist is the new Harry Styles single from his upcoming third album, Harry’s House.

This song has some amazingly poignant lyrics paired with an amazing beat that keeps the song moving steadily.

Also, the bridge — it is a masterpiece. It is easily my favorite part of the song. This new style is very refreshing and the perfect change of pace to get you ready for this spring.
